WASHINGTON (AP) -- A California-based food manufacturer is recalling 2-ounce bars of Cloud Nine Premium Dark Orange and Dark Chocolate distributed across the United States and Canada because they might contain residual dairy protein that could lead to allergic reactions in some people.

Cloud Nine, a division of nSpired Natural Foods of San Leandro, Calif., said Friday night the voluntary recall covers Cloud Nine Premium Dark Chocolate bars, net weight 2 oz., Lot Code . 3255A and 3255B.

The Cloud Nine Premium Dark Chocolate bars being recalled carry the code UPC 7 29582 11550 5 and the Cloud Nine Premium Orange Dark Chocolate bars the code UPC 7 29582 11530 7.

The products were manufactured on equipment that is also used for dairy products, the company said, and may contain residual dairy protein. One illness has been associated with the Cloud Nine Premium Dark Chocolate bar, it said.

Consumers may return products to the place of purchase for a refund and contact nSpired Natural Foods by calling 1-510-346-3860 or 1-510-346-3886.
