(KSL TV/AP) Despite the ongoing war in Iraq, gas prices have fallen for the first time in weeks.

After hitting record highs, the price of gas fell 3.8 cents a gallon.

The reason behind the drop is a fall in the cost of crude oil since the beginning of the war.

The average price for a gallon of gas is now $1.69.
