(KSL News) -- Ford Motor Company announced a recall of more than 225-thousand vehicles.

The automaker says defective batteries in several 2005 models could ignite a fire. Loose batteries can scrape and chafe, causing heat damage or a fire.

This recall involves the Crown Victoria, the Lincoln Town Car, and the Mercury Grand Marquis Sedan.

The Ford Freestyle, Ford 500 Sedan and Mercury Montego are also being recalled because of malfunctioning fuel tank straps. After 100-thousand miles, the straps can snap and drop the fuel tank.
