(KSL News) -- The hulky Hummer H-1 is about to become history.
General Motors announced today that it will no longer make the gas guzzler that gets just 10 miles a gallon.
The Hummer H-1 was based on the military's Humvee. GM made about 12,000 since they debuted in 1992.
The automaker says it plans to focus production efforts on the Hummer H-2, and midsized H-3 SUV models.
