(KSL News) Canyon Sports and Sundance Ski resort are hosting a fundraiser Thursday, Jan. 8, for a Utah couple severely injured in an Arizona plane crash.
Christian and Stephanie Nielson were aboard a small plane when it crashed last August. Christian suffered burns more than 35 percent of his body, Stephanie more than 80 percent.
Stephanie remains hospitalized at the University Hospital burn unit. Her injuries are so severe family and friends expect her medical bills to reach somewhere in the millions.
Because Stephanie used to be a ski instructor at Sundance and the owners of Canyon Sports know the family, both companies wanted to help.
"Sundance Ski Resort is donating tickets for the day. So for $100, you get a day pass, lunch and rentals," explained Kathy Black, spokeswoman for Canyon Sports.
All the money raised will go toward the couple's medical bills. If you'd like to help, contact Canyon Sports at 800-482-4754 or Sundance Ski Resort at 801-205-4445. You can also register on the Internet by clicking HERE.
