SALT LAKE CITY -- More than 140 artists and street painters gathered at The Gateway in Salt Lake City Friday to chalk up the cement with works of art.
The annual Chalk Art Festival benefiting Utah Foster Care Foundation features reproductions of childhood favorite Dr. Seuss and M.C. Escher.
The festival raises awareness of the need for more families to help the state's 2,800 children and teens in foster care.
The lively event ends Saturday, where five outstanding foster and adoptive dads will be honored.
