Sloan after his team defeated the Houston Rockets in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals to advance to the 1997 NBA Finals.

# 6 - "18 years... Even in a marriage, that's a long time.
Sloan 2002, speaking of his relationship with Karl Malone.

# 5 - "Playing in tuxedos"
"Basically what we've been doing is playing in tuxedos." Said in 1997 after 13 straight wins. Sloan was worried about how the Jazz would respond to a good team after having things fairly easy.

# 4 - "I haven't been nasty enough"
Sloan said after a 113-100 loss at the start of a first-round playoff series with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009.

# 3 - "Get your ice picks out"
Said after a 2004 loss against Portland, setting the Jazz to two games under .500 for the first time that season, and marking their fourth loss in a row.

# 2 - "That'll get you a toothpick and a glass of water"
Said Nov. 2010 after pulling off three straight wins against the Clippers, Heat and Magic while trailing by 10 points or more at halftime. A feat no one had done since 1954.

# 1 - "We can't put diapers on him one night, and a jockstrap the next"
Said by Sloan about C.J. Miles, age 19 then, right after a less than ideal performance in his second season.

Sloan never lost sight of the fact it was his job to win.
