OGDEN, Utah - Weber State won its fourth straight game with a 56-40 win over Idaho State Monday night at the Dee Events Center. The win moves the Wildcats to 17-5 overall and 12-2 in Big Sky play and sets up a conference showdown with Big Sky leader Montana Thursday night at the Dee Events Center.
Weber State never trailed in route to their sixth straight home win over Idaho State, who falls to 3-11 in Big Sky play. The ‘Cats led by as many as 17 in the first half but Idaho State finished the half on a 7-0 run and cut the halftime lead to 31-21.
The Bengals cut the lead to seven points five minutes into the half but Weber State responded with a 14-3 run over the next five minutes and rolled to the win.
The Wildcats finished the game shooting 48.9 percent from the field and held the Bengals to 38 percent shooting. WSU outrebounded ISU 35-20 and both teams had 16 turnovers on the night. The 40 points allowed is the fewest by a Wildcat opponent this season.

"We knew it was going to be a tough game tonight and we needed to grind it out," said WSU head coach Randy Rahe. "I didn't feel like we had the energy we needed in the first half but we came out with better energy defensively in the second half. We were able to get some good offensive rebounds find a way to get it done."
Weber State was led by junior Kyle Tresnak who finished with 15 points and pulled down seven rebounds, along with two blocked shots. Frank Otis had his third double-double of the season, finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds and was 5-5 from the field. Davion Berry added 14 points and Joel Bolomboy had nine rebounds.
With the win the Wildcats officially clinched a tournament berth in the Big Sky Tournament for the seventh straight season and the 35th time in school history. They now focus on Thursday's showdown with Montana. The Grizzlies come in with a 14-0 conference record and have won a conference record 25-straight Big Sky games.
