SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) -- Tate Sorenson had 26 points and 10 rebounds as Southern Utah beat Cal Poly 61-53 on Saturday night.

Trae Clark led Cal Poly with 13 points and Titus Shelton had 11.

Cal Poly did not lead after the first three minutes, but pulled within two 42-40 with 10:24 to play after a dunk by Shelton.

The Mustangs were later within four 56-52 with 43 seconds to go following a jumper by Clark, but Southern Utah's Nurudeen Adepoju made a lay-up and the Thunderbirds went 3-for-4 from the line in the final seconds.
