For the third year in a row American Express is backing "small business Saturday" -- calling for people to turn their backs on the big national chains -- and spend money with local merchants. To encourage them to do it? The company is giving all card members who register online a 25 dollar credit to spend at qualifying shops and restaurants on Saturday November 24th.
And in Utah it's easy to shop local. An estimated 80 percent of the state's economy is made up of small businesses. The key is just knowing where to look -- and American Express is making that easy -- providing a list of every kind of store you could need.
