Appleby's shot gave Louisiana Tech the lead back, and Butterfield and Ben Clifford each missed 3s in the final minute for the Aggies (14-5, 5-4).

Shaw had 21 points and 14 rebounds, while Butterfield added 16 points and 15 rebounds for Utah State, which has lost four in a row. The Aggies shot just 27 percent from the floor but outrebounded Louisiana Tech 50-31.
