LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- Jaycee Carroll scored 33 points to lead Utah State to a 78-62 win over Northern Arizona in the championship game of the Gossner Foods Holiday Classic on Friday night.

Gary Wilkinson also scored 14 for the Aggies (9-5), who hosted the tournament. Tai Wesley dropped in 11 and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds for Utah State.

The Lumberjacks (8-5) were led by Kyle Landry with 20 points, the only player in double figures.

Northern Arizona trailed by double digits most of the second half, but a 3-point shot by Josh Wilson with 3:41 left in the game made the score 68-61. Carroll and Wesley then scored on the next two possessions and the Lumberjacks were unable to get any closer.

Northern Arizona was forced to foul Utah State ball handlers in the closing two minutes and the Aggies responded, shooting 8-for-8 from the free-throw line.

The Lumberjacks bolted to a quick 7-2 lead in the first half. Carroll tied the game at 10 and moments later Utah State went on a 13-6 run, giving the Aggies a 23-16 edge with 9:30 left in the half.

Carroll had 17 points and two 3-pointers at halftime as Utah State held a 36-31 edge.
