BALTIMORE — The Baltimore Ravens take on the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Wild-Card game on Sunday and it may be linebacker Ray Lewis' last game ever.
The Ravens official Twitter feed, @Ravens, announced Lewis will retire at the end of the season.
Lewis announced the decision on Wednesday.
"I talked to my team today," Lewis said Wednesday. "I talked to them about life in general. And everything that starts has an end. For me, today, I told my team that this will be my last ride."
Lewis has played in the NFL for 17 seasons and has gone to 13 Pro Bowls, named first-team All-Pro seven times and led the Ravens to the Super Bowl in 2000.
Kruger Heads to NFL
While Cougars star LB Kyle Van Noy announced that he will return for his senior season in Provo, Utah defensive end Joe Kruger released a statement today saying that he will forgo his senior season and enter the 2013 NFL draft.
"I am releasing this statement after much prayer, consideration and evaluation with my family in announcing that I have decided to forgo my final year of eligibility and enter the 2013 NFL draft," Kruger said in the statement.
Joe is the youngest of three Kruger brothers who have played for the Utes. Paul currently plays linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens, while Dave finished his Ute career this past fall as a four-year starting defensive tackle.
Biggest Hit of Bowl Season
The Outback Bowl on Tuesday was one of the best bowl games of the season so far. South Carolina edged out the Michigan Wolverines in the closing seconds of the game.
About midway through the fourth the Wolverines had a first and 10 from their own 40-yard line when QB Denard Robinson handed it off to running back Vincent Smith.
Smith barely had time to get the ball before one of the best defensive players in the country, Jadeveon Clowney, totally destroyed Smith's New Year.
Clowney de-cleated Smith who lost the ball and his helmet. Clowney managed to recover the fumble with one hand while Smith was still trying to figure out what happened.
Just watch the hit and be happy you don't have to face Clowney anytime soon.
Tebow Gets Dissed
Tim Tebow's NFL career hasn't been exactly what he hoped for, and this year was rough on the former Heisman winner. Tebow was passed over as the starting QB for the New York Jets twice this season and it's likely his days on Broadway are done.
While Tebow is down about the whole thing, a Dick's Sporting Goods store is having a grand old time with it.
ESPN's Darren Rovell tweeted this picture of a display at a Dick's store likely in New York or New Jersey.
The display has several mannequins in Jets uniforms standing at attention while number 15, Tebow, is sitting on the bench.
It may be a bit mean, but it does make you chuckle.
