West Valley City, Utah - The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Utah Grizzlies 7-5 Saturday night at the E-Center. Justin Bourne added a hat trick in the game and Trevor Smith had three assists.
The teams traded goals in the first period with the Grizzlies jumping up 1-0 and 2-1 with Justin Bourne and Scott Burt scoring power-play goals. The game was tied 2-2 after 20 minutes.
Las Vegas took 3-2 and 4-3 leads in the second. The Grizzlies rallied each time with goals from Justin Bourne to make it 4-4 after two periods.
The Wranglers took control in the third period with three unanswered goals including an empty-netter to go up 7-4. Rob Sirianni then got Utah's fifth goal with 13 seconds left.
The Grizzlies will continue their home stand Tuesday and Wednesday at the E-Center. Face-offs both nights are scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
