Apr 26, 2006 (WENN via COMTEX) -- The paperback edition of THE DA VINCI CODE has sold more than one million copies since going on sale in America last month (MAR06).
The release date of the cheaper version of DAN BROWN's best-seller was pushed back to 28 March (06) in the US due to continued high sales figures of the hardback edition - but Americans are still snapping up the novel at an unprecedented rate.
The Da Vinci Code has now sold more than 1.4 million paperback copies in the space of a month, and publisher Random House has extended the print run to six million in anticipation of the TOM HANKS-starring movie adaptation - which hits US cinemas on 19 May (06).
The novel has sold more than 40 million copies worldwide since it was first published in 2003. (SC/WNWCCB/SH)
