It is a huge and awesome responsibility to watch over LDS missionaries. While serving our mission in Georgia, one of my cherished opportunities was to help with their health and medical needs, like their own mother would. Whether dealing with sinus infections, bronchitis, dehydration, or the common cold and sore throat—you hoped the best for them, knowing they need to be healthy to work effectively. We worked closely with amazing mission doctors, and I learned a lot. In fact, my husband affectionately started calling me, "Sister King: Medicine Woman."

But not every illness was a common one. And, sometimes, the unexpected happened, despite all the talk and training about health and safety. I can't even imagine being on the receiving end of the call made to the mission president 14-years ago when two LDS elders were kidnapped in Russia.

The pair is now finally speaking out about their harrowing experience that made international headlines and even involved intervention from the President of the United States. On this week's episode of Mormon Times TV, you'll hear them tell their amazing story of faith.

Also on October 28, popular LDS speaker and author, John Bytheway, will be along to share five favorite scriptures that can motivate us to action.

And meet two women who have a unique relationship as birth mother and adoptive mother of a young boy. You'll see how he has been a gift in both of their lives, and how the LDS Church can help with adoption and the unwed mother.

The Polynesian Cultural Center is one of Hawaii's top tourist attractions, and it's preparing to celebrate 50-years of music and dance. We'll take a look at what's in store to mark this milestone.

Plus a musical performance by one of the newer faces on the LDS music scene—Justin Cash.
