This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

What do you think your level of coachability is? Coachability is explained as a willingness to be guided and corrected. In business, sometimes your best assets, outside of your employees, are consultants. This can take you from being a really good company to a great company. Nobody knows this better than Dr. Timothy Clark of TR Clark, LLC.

Dr. Clark received his education from some of the top universities in the state including both BYU and the U of U. In addition, he earned a doctor's degree in international politics and social science from Oxford University. He's used this education to help him establish TR Clark, a boutique consulting firm with extremely talented front-line consultants.

All 10 consultants are senior partners with real-world experience so they can back up what they teach your organization with their own experience. It's no wonder TR Clark is working with some of the largest and most impressive businesses in the public and private sector, governments and universities across the United States. This includes companies like Accenture, Microsoft, Chevron, Disney, the Department of Homeland Security, Stanford and Johns Hopkins.

The focus for TR Clark is leadership development and organizational transformation. Many companies are starting to recognize the crucial difference between management and leadership. Once you identify the distinction between the two, it opens up a whole new world. This team can help build leadership capability. Dr. Clark believes leadership is the ultimate applied field where people can be so much better than they are. He also believes the will is more important than skill.

Many managers have the capability to drastically improve given training, coaching and accountability. This is where coachability comes in. If you're highly coachable, this hits both skill and will. As long as you're motivated and have drive, you can build the necessary skill. All these factors differentiate TR Clark as an organization because their model is based on a transfer of ownership.

You can find these leadership principles and more in books Dr. Clark has published. Check out his website at trclark.net.
