Here are some initial thoughts on BYU's 41-17 win over Georgia Tech...

-For an offense struggling with confidence, the Cougars impressed in their opening drive; scoring a touchdown to take a 7-0 lead. The problem was that Nelson threw an interception on the team's second drive that was returned for a touchdown. It would have been very easy to let that mistake haunt them, but the Cougar offense bounced back and played well. BYU ended the day with total yards of offense.

-I thought the play-calling was much better today. Give Brandon Doman credit for calling a good game.

-Jamaal Williams once again proved his worth to the Cougars. The freshman scored four touchdowns, while racking up 107 yards rushing and 54 yards receiving. I think we're all grateful that we'll get to see this young man play in Provo for three more years?

-The BYU defense was fantastic today. The Cougars held Georgia Tech, which averages almost 500 yards of offense, to just 157. What might be even more impressive is that BYU held the Yellow Jackets to 0-10 on third down.

-JD Falslev was a big reason why BYU won today. His kick-off returns set-up BYU in great field position. Falslev averaged 43 yards on three kick-off returns.

-Needless to say, BYU needed this win today and they played like it. This was a great performance all-around by the Cougars
