In April of 2012 the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints established the first Nepali-speaking branch in the United States.
It was organized in South Salt Lake, Utah and is comprised almost entirely of Nepali-speaking refugees from Bhutan.
Proselyting missionaries are not allowed in the predominately Hindu country of Nepal. But, more than 100 Bhutanese refugees have found the gospel since being relocated to Utah. Their conversations are miraculous considering most church materials, including the Book of Mormon, are not yet translated into Nepali.
