LOGAN — The Utah State Aggies took on the UNLV Rebels in Logan Saturday night and after a slow start the Aggies turned on the burners and left the Rebels in the dust.

The Aggies went scoreless in the first quarter and found themselves down 7-3 in the second.

"UNLV leads Utah State 7-3, early second quarter. The more QB Nick Sherry plays, the better he looks," tweeted @edgraney.

While the Rebels QB Sherry looked pretty good to start out it wasn't long until the Aggie defense turned it on and the offense started rolling.

Chuckie Keeton and Kerwynn Williams went back to work and they both had another great night.

"Chuckie Keeton is 20-33 for 402 and 4 TD. Most passing yards in single game at Utah State in 10 years," tweeted @TheUpset.

"Kerwynn Williams' 147 receiving yards tonight is the most yards for a non-receive at USU since 1959," tweeted @USUFootball.

Williams also had 120 yards on the ground for a total of 267 all-purpose yards.

The defense gave up 13 points, but for the most part they looked tough and aggressive. But, while both the defense and offense controlled most of the game, they did have some sloppy moments throughout the game.

"#USU defense getting sloppy. UNLV driving and threatening to score," tweeted @efrandsen.

"The lack of offensive production in the second half may be wearing on the #USU defense, which is suddenly leaking a little," tweeted @CacheSports.

These troubles and a slew of penalties got some fans looking to next week's game with BYU.

"The way this game is going will temper some expectation USU fans have going into BYU," tweeted @TonyAggieville.

Some others, however, thought the miscues weren't an issue, or maybe ignored them.

"USU/BYU is in six days and USU is going to destroy the Cougars," tweeted @TySpace.

"USU vs BYU should be a great game. BYU will finally play a real opponent on their home field," tweeted @MrHislop.

"Early prediction is that USU comes away with a victory against BYU, but the Cougars defense is pretty legit, which could cause troubles," tweeted ksl.com's managing editor Josh Furlong.

While we'll all be arguing about it until next Friday, we won't know for sure until the game clock hits zero.
