Stockton, California - The Utah Grizzlies defeated the Stockton Thunder 8-3 Saturday night to win their third-straight game.
Utah scored three goals in the first, two in the second and two in the third never trailing and leading 3-0 after one period.
Keith Johnson (three goals, two assists) became only the fifth Utah player all-time to record as many as five points in a game. Trevor Smith and Tyler Haskins each had one goal and three assists.
Utah outshot Stockton 46-22 in the game.
Utah went 4-5 on the power-play and 2-2 on the penalty-kill.
Goaltender Mike Mole improved to 7-3 with the win.
Utah continues their road trip Sunday in Fresno. Face-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
The Grizzlies return to the E-Center Wednesday, Friday and Saturday hosting Stockton as they open a ten-game home stand. All Grizzlies home games start at 7:05 p.m.
