Aggies fall to Vanderbilt in Texas Tourney

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas (AP) -- Five players scored in double figures to lead Vanderbilt to a 77-56 win over Utah State on Friday at the South Padre Island Invitational.

Shan Foster scored 15 points and Jermaine Beal added 14 points for the Commodores (4-0).

Also scoring in double figures were Alex Gordon, A.J. Ogilvy and Ross Neltner with 10 points apiece.

Alan Metcalfe had a team-high six rebounds for Vanderbilt, part of a 40-28 edge on the boards for the Commodores.

Vanderbilt limited Utah State leading scorer Jaycee Carroll to 11 points, 10 under his season average. Carroll shot only 30 percent from the field.

Stephen DuCharme led the Aggies (3-4) with 20 points.

Vanderbilt led for most of the first half, but took only a 33-30 lead into the break. The Commodores started the second half with a 12-2 run in the first four minutes to go up by 13 and put the game out of reach.

Vanderbilt will play Bradley for the championship Saturday night. Utah State will take on Iowa in the consolation game.
