The driving of the golden spike, a beehive, or a female snowboarder!
One of them, as designed by artists selected by the United States Mint, will become immortalized as Utah's commemorative quarter.
The public can have a say in the decision. In fact, Governor Huntsman is seeking input from one and all before he makes the final design selection in mid-May. KSL encourages Utahns to let their feelings be known. You can do it by taking an online survey at www.utah.gov between now and May 8th.
It's a simple process that will take only a few minutes.
Click on www.utah.gov. Evaluate the designs and check the one you prefer. The three designs were gleaned from some 5,000 ideas submitted by Utah school children and other citizens, then finalized by the Mint's artists.
Of course, "The World is Welcome" here as the snowboard coin declares.
And Utah has been known for more than a century as "The Beehive State"
In KSL's view, though, the golden spike with its "Crossroads of the West" inscription best represents Utah's overall image as a state at the very center of western history as well as many contemporary and future happenings.
Our voice, though, is only one among many. We hope you'll let Governor Huntsman know what you think at www.utah.gov.
