SALT LAKE CITY — What a difference just a couple of days can make.
On Saturday at the practice/scrimmage at Rice-Eccles Stadium, I was honestly concerned and worried for the offense. The team to me just seemed out of sorts and I was unimpressed.
Today it was a different story. The team looked alive and they were genuinely having fun playing football.
Fall camp has to feel like a job for these guys. Two-a-days, the heat, no relief, it never ends. If camp is tough on us media guys, it has to make these players crazy!
The Utes are in full blown game mode. They will be able to hit someone else just next week. It's almost here, and it looked like it. The offense in the two minute drill looked fast. Wynn looked accurate. The receivers looked dominant. I finally feel like I got a good look at what we will see. The offensive line looked rejuvenated. They finished their third consecutive day working together and Coach Whitt knows how crucial they are.

Coach used my favorite saying when it comes to sports and teams. He said he will put the best players on the field, and then find them a position. He will get the best five offensive linemen on the field.
Jordan Wynn looked good and fresh. All we were able to watch was the two minute offense, but it moved down the field and the tempo was at light speed. Wynn threw the quick outs with zip, dumped the ball off, and scrambled for some first downs. He ran hard at the end of practice and even looked eager to speak with the media (perhaps to get the interviews done).
This team seems to have a really distinct work ethic. I have seen it more now than in the past that more players are staying after practice getting more work in. Receivers are running routes, kickers making extra kicks, guys working extra on technique, everything.
The Utes will talk basically one more time to the media on Monday and then the next time we will see them will be in Rice-Eccles Stadium for the game against Northern Colorado. It is almost here.
