The Salt Lake Bees pounded out a season high twenty hits on Saturday night, as they routed the Portland Beavers 15-1 in Salt Lake City. The Bees scored two unearned runs in the first inning and followed that up with back-to-back four run innings in the second and third. Dallas McPherson led Salt Lake with three hits and five runs batted in, as he was a home run shy of the cycle. Howie Kendrick extended his hitting streak to ten games with four hits and two RBI, while Curtis Pride chipped in three hits and three runs scored. Reggie Willits and Erick Aybar each added a home run, Willits with one runner on base, while Aybar hit a three run blast.
Kevin Gregg (1-0, 0.00) did not allow a run in his five innings of work to extend his scoreless inning streak to ten, as he gave up five hits with three strikeouts and two walks. The Bees outfield recorded three assists, two by Tommy Murphy in right field and one by left fielder Nick Gorneault.
