The oldest continuous golf tournament in the world is underway.

The 114th Utah State Amateur is being played at the Salt Lake Country Club, the club where it all began — sort of!

1899 was the first Utah State Amateur and it was played at Gilmore Country Club, which later moved a few blocks and became the Country Club as we now know it.

The Country Club has hosted the state am more than any other club but this is the first time it's been played on the prestigious course since 1975.

Jeff Evans of Cedar City is the defending champion.

Wednesday and Thursday is stroke play with the low 31 score and Evans moving on to match play which begins on Friday.

The 36 hole championship match will be played Sunday.
