SALT LAKE CITY — It's taken longer than most BYU and Sacramento fans had hoped, but the Kings' Jimmer Fredette finally had a dominant performance in a Kings uniform.

So it came during the Summer League in Las Vegas against a bunch of rookies and dudes who likely won't ever play in the NBA, but 30 points is 30 points even if it came in a 22-point loss to Houston.

Jimmer struggled in his first two Summer League games scoring a total of 22 points, but it came on 5-22 shooting, 1-14 from three-point territory.

Who knows what got into the former BYU star, but maybe it was the Kings' signing of point guard Aaron Brooks, which now gives Sacramento four point guards: Tyreke Evans, Isaiah Thomas, Brooks and Fredette.

Many of the Kings recent moves make no sense and this one is no exception, but maybe this frees Fredette up to do what he does best, bomb away from long distance, whether in Sacramento or elsewhere.

Lillard lights upThe day before Jimmer dropped 30, former Weber State Wildcat and current Portland Trailblazer Damian Lillard stole the show in his pro debut with 25 points of his own in a 85-82 win over the New Orleans Hornets.

Oh, and it came on his 22nd birthday. Quite the present to himself.

Portland plays Houston this afternoon. Fredette and the Kings have Tuesday off after three games in four days.

Dark Knight rises in ProvoAnother classic BYU football promo this time featuring Cody Hoffman.

The unassuming wide receiver "loyally guards the halls and studios of BYUtv" and freaks people out with a disturbing Batman voice, including KSL TV's very own Dave McCann.

"I'm not a hero... I"m Hoffman."

Well, that's nice but BYU fans expect more heroic efforts this year from the star receiver, like his eight catches, 122 yards and three touchdowns in the Cougar's 24-21 over Tulsa in the Armed Forces Bowl last season.

USA IntroWant to know what it's like to be in the pre-game huddle with Team USA?

Check out the video to the right.

After some spiritual motivation, the team gets fired up by its fans as it runs out of the tunnel and onto the floor before its Monday night game against Brazil.

Maybe I'm a sucker, but that just gave me goose bumps.

Obama's Presidential Kiss Cam Mishap

Team USA beat Brazil 80-69 in front of President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

While it wasn't Team USA's best performance, it was better than the President's effort on the Jumbotron Kiss Cam.

The Kiss Cam caught the President and his wife cuddling, but Pres. Obama apparently missed it. No smooch was planted on Mrs. Obama prompting boos from the crowd.

However, the Obamas were given a second chance to please the crowd. In the fourth quarter, the President got and seized his chance at redemption.

Que the next round of political attack ads.

Kobe Retiring?

Well, when he was a rookie Kobe Bryant said he would retire at the ripe old age of 35.

That's two years from now and comes at the end of his current contract.

In a great interview with Yahoo's Graham Bensinger Kobe said, "Still probably accurate. I've been playing for 17 years now, so next year will be my 17th and then, when I'm 35, it will be my 18th year in the league. I mean that's a long time to be playing. It will be the last year in my contract, so I don't know. I don't know if I'll play any longer than that."

Easier said than done and knowing how competitive Kobe is, I can't imagine him hanging up his Nike's with a few good years still in his legs.

But he's also pretty stubborn and if he can't continue to compete at his current level, he may just call it quits and head "overseas somewhere."

I'm pretty sure I don't know a single Jazz fan that would shed a single tear.

Look Ma, no hands!

A Blue Jays fan made arguably the greatest catch ever by a fan.

We've seen fans make bare-handed catches, catches without spilling a beverage, catches with babies in tow, diving catches, etc.

But with food in one hand and his drink in the other, this fan caught the foul ball between his legs.

I'm not sure the reward was worth the risk, but it was obviously all instinct.

I'm just wondering why he let a complete stranger remove it. I mean, the guy could have ran off with it.
