LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- Senior guard Nick Hammer is unable to overcome injuries and will no longer play for the Utah State basketball team.

Coach Stew Morrill made the announcement. Hammer missed much of the preseason with a broken left collarbone but played in two exhibition games.

Hammer was a prep star in St. George. He played in 56 games and averaged 2.7 points for Utah State.
