Who will have the better NBA career?

Now that we know where Weber State guard Damian Lillard is headed, my question is simple. Who will have the better NBA career — Miller, Lillard, or Fredette?

Jimmer, Andre or Damian — who will have the better NBA career?

The bar has been set by former Utah guard Andre Miller. One of the NBA's steadiest and consistent players, Miller has put up some very good numbers in the NBA.

He shoots 45% from the field, 80% from the line, and 20% from the three point line.

He has 4,223 career rebounds, 201 blocks, 1,391 steals and here come the big numbers, 14,710 points and 7,472 assists. His assist numbers are good enough to be in the top ten all-time.

Miller has bounced around in the league a little bit, playing for the Cavaliers, Sixers, Nuggets, Clippers, and Blazers. He has played in almost all games in 12 of his 14 seasons.

Now that his career is winding down, who will have a better NBA career, Lillard or Fredette?

Let the discussion begin.

If we strictly look at college numbers, it remarkable how close these two are.

Jimmer's career averages at BYU Lillard's career averages at Weber State
29.6 minutes/game32.3 minutes/game
18.7 points/game18.6 points/game
45.4 FG%44.5 FG%
39.3 3FG%39.0 3FG%
88.1 FT%86.6 FT%
3.7 assists/game3.5 assists/game
2.6 rebounds/game4.3 rebounds/game
1.2 steals/game1.2 steals/game

Say what you want, but that looks pretty even just from a college perspective. All three players (Miller, Fredette, and Lillard) were picked in the top ten of the lottery.

Can Lillard and Fredette match what Miller has done?

I hope for Lillard's sake that he ends up in a better situation than Jimmer, although Jimmer did get beat out by second round pick Isaiah Thomas.

Jimmer, Andre or Damian — who will have the better NBA career?

The Kings do have talent though and now with Thomas Robinson joining the team, are there enough shots to go around for each guy? Can the Kings figure out how to play and be competitive with Jimmer in their plans?

We all know that Jimmer can play and can absolutely shoot the ball, but if he can he fit in is the question after one year.

Now that we know that Damian Lillard is headed to Portland with the Blazers, is that a good situation for him?

He certainly has some help on the guard line with former Jazzman Wesley Matthews. I can only see Matthews helping Lillard out.

Jimmer, Andre or Damian — who will have the better NBA career?

Lamarcus Aldridge is an All-Star and Portland is a great city.

There were reports all season that Raymond Felton fell out of favor with the Blazers organization and the good news for Lillard is that Felton could be either on a short leash or at least that his position could be had. Lillard could be that player.

So all that being said, who will have the better NBA career?

My opinion, Andre Miller.

I realize that might be the easy way out of this question, taking the guy that is in the twilight of his career, but I don't see either Lillard or Fredette with even close to 7,000 assists.

I believe Lillard will have the better assist numbers over Jimmer when it is all said and done.

I also believe that Lillard is in a better situation than Jimmer. In his current situation, Jimmer won't ever see the ball enough.

#poll

If things continue for Jimmer, the best he could be would be an Eddie House if I was to compare (which I was taught not to from Gordon Chiesa).

Damian Lillard is in a good situation and he will succeed, while Jimmer needs to be moved to a team like Phoenix. If Jimmer gets moved and gets a fresh start with a more unselfish group, he can get that jumpstart that he needs.
