The product they created is mobile log cabins. We're not just talking about ordinary log cabins but state-of-the-art cabins that are extremely well built and durable. These 750-square foot cabins come with full kitchens, two bedrooms, an office, hardwood floors and a flat screen TV for the men working out in the oil fields.
The Kielbasas named their products the Cabin Suites Portables. They've been so popular that Kielbasa Contractors can't build them fast enough. Out of their crew of 20 people, four of them are dedicated just to building these cabins. This company is a great example of why the Pollina Report recently ranked Utah as the second pro-business state in the nation, second only to Virginia.
In talking with Kelly, he says starting Cabin Suites Portables was a business decision to help diversify the company. For the last 13 years, Kielbasa Contractors has focused on contracting work and concrete. About a year ago, Kelly felt the market conditions were right for him to try something new. The booming oil economy, mostly because of the new fracking technique used to find untapped oil reserves, inspired him to find some way to support that market. That's when he discovered the need for high-end shelter.
Kelly is already marketing the Cabin Suites Portables regionally and is expanding his reach across the United States to oil fields in North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma and Texas. Interest in them has been so high, he's feeling the sky's the limit as far as what they can do with the log cabins. He sees applications in many industries.
The Kielbasas feel Cabin Suites Portables are most distinguished by the high quality of the log cabins built for comfort and durability.
