SALT LAKE CITY — Hey did you hear? The Los Angeles Kings won the Stanley Cup.

First time ever for the franchise. Kings fans have been waiting 44 years for this moment and whether you're in to hockey or not, the NHL does have the coolest championship trophy.

I mean, the guys carrying the trophy onto the ice have to wear white gloves.

Wouldn't it be horrible if you dropped it?

It, of course, has happened before and almost happened again when the Kings' Simon Gagne grabbed the Stanley Cup and as he raised it above his head it slipped and almost fell to the ice.

Good save.

And by the way, local boy Trevor Lewis (Brighton High School) will be bringing the Stanley Cup to Utah.

Simpsons do Soccer

If you haven't noticed The UEFA Cup is going on. This tournament features the Top 16 teams in Europe and is arguably some of the best soccer you might ever watch.

Germany is a heavy favorite. Spain won it all last go round. France, Italy, and the Dutch always make it interesting.

But if you're having trouble getting excited, watch the clip from "The Simpsons."

Chances are you'll be talking Schweinsteiger before you know it.

How to irritate a Tiger

Tiger Woods was warming up Tuesday for this week's U.S. Open when a camera click stopped him on his backswing.

Yeah, he was visibly annoyed, be also looked to be in some considerable pain.

His back appeared to lock up on him or he got some sort of shooting pain, but whatever it was it didn't look very good.

I usually use that excuse on my follow through.

Celebration request

The NBA Finals get under way Tuesday. The Heat and the Thunder will go toe-to-toe in what has all the makings of one fantastic finals.

LeBron James (MVP) versus Kevin Durant (scoring title) has got to be the headliner. That's apparently all that matters in Oklahoma... at least according to the Oklahoman.

And, I'll admit this is the Finals matchup I was hoping for, but no matter who comes out the victor can I make one request?

Let's come up with something more creative than the Heat's "Jump Around" dance?

Jazz Draft Party

Who cares that the Jazz don't have a first round pick in the upcoming NBA draft and will likely be picking when no one is paying any attention anymore.

If you can throw a party I say throw a party. And that's exactly what the Jazz are going to do.

Thursday, June 28 at the EnergySolutions Arena. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Just remember, the party won't really get started until pick 47.
