Utah Grizzlies lose in Boise

Boise, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads came out and got revenge for last weekend putting up a 6-1 victory over the Grizzlies in Boise.

The Steelheads jumped out to the early 1-0 just over 11 minutes into the first period. Lance Galbraith deflected a shot from Marty Flichel to beat Mike Mole on the 5-on-3 power play.

Utah came out strong in the second period, tying the score 2:29 into the period on the power play. Scott Ford got his first of the season on a shot from the point, assists were credited to Scott Burt and Jeff Dwyer. About half way through the second the ice tilted down in the Grizzlies zone as the Steelheads finished the period with three goals, two of them on the power play, 45 second apart.

Idaho continued their strong effort adding two more in the third period to complete a 6-1 victory. Mark Bombersack added his second of the game early in the third, then Greg Rallo finished off the scoring midway through the third.

Mole stopped 33 of 39 shots.

Prior to the game, Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie announced that forward Trevor Smith had been assigned to Utah from the Grizzlies and Islanders AHL affiliate in Bridgeport. The Grizzlies now have 12 ties on their roster to the Sound Tigers and Islanders.

The Grizzlies now travel to Las Vegas for 8:05 p.m. starts Friday and Saturday from the Orleans Arena.

Utah returns home Friday, November 9 and Saturday, November 10 to host Victoria at the E-Center.
