SALT LAKE CITY - Every now and again a sports moment will get you to stop in your tracks and slow clap. Not because it's inspiring, not because it's life altering, but just because it's freaking awesome. This was one of those moments.
A track meet in Hawaii seemed pretty normal as the sprinters took off down the track. Right as the pack starts to cross the finish line one of the runners takes a dive.
Instead of acting humiliated and defeated, the runner immediately takes advantage of being on his belly and does the worm. Well played sir, not only have you impressed many of us here on the mainland, but you certainly impressed the young lady getting it all on video. Apparently she thinks you're "so funny."
Physics Defying Hole-in-One
OK, OK. Before physics aficionados unite and attack me, obviously this shot does not defy physics, but it's still pretty cool.
During a practice round for the Masters, Martin Kaymer a tee shot that headed straight for the water. Well, the ball did hit the water, then, it hit it again and again. The ball skipped like a rock over the water and skidded right up onto the green.
Fans loved the water-walking ball, but soon they realized the ball was not done rolling. The ball continued to roll up the green and then slowly dropped and went right in the hole.
Apparently this is a trick shot some golfers have tried to pull off during the practice round of the Masters on the 16th hole. It's clearly not an easy shot, because many have tried and just about as many have failed. But Vijay Singh managed to do the exact same thing a few years back. Thanks to reader Marshall Snarr for that info.
What the What?
I don't really know what to say here. The Minnesota Timberwolves have a new ad campaign. I'm still not sure if they fall in the "So bad they're good category" or the "So bad they make me physically ill and horrified" category. You be the judge.
