SALT LAKE CITY -- Four men's basketball players for the University of Utah have left the program.

The team announced Tuesday it had released Javon Dawson, Chris Hines, George Matthews and Kareem Storey from their scholarships.

"We really want to thank these young men for all of their efforts here at Utah in their commitment to basketball, academics and our community," said head coach Larry Krystkowiak. "They are fantastic people and we wish them nothing but the best in their future endeavors."

The University provided no other details.
