I don't know. More evidence might be a hypnotist running amok, if a hypnotist running amok is possible. Anyway, he was the most excitement Logan High School has probably seen in years. When police arrived -- yes, they showed up -- a 17-year-old girl was being wheeled to an ambulance, all anxious and hyperventilating. Then there was the auditorium, which I envision as something between the gym in the movie, "Carrie," and Jonestown. It just so happened the walls weren't on fire and nobody drank the punch. But a hypnotist had rendered several girls unresponsive. Officers say they found him going one-by-one, reviving them. The school ultimately had to cancel the show that had gone wildly awry.

Then certainly the 2007 college football year has been. Fifth-ranked Michigan went down at the Big House in the opening week to FCS member Appalachian State. Hapless Stanford beat #1 USC in Los Angeles two weeks ago. Kentucky knocked off #1 LSU this past weekend. And then you have South Florida ranked #2 in the country this week, with Miami and Florida State unranked. Plus, Nebraska is losing at home 45-14 to the likes of Oklahoma State. Mike Rozier would be rolling over in his grave if he were dead. And if that weren't all, Notre Dame is 1-6 and has the worst record among independents, behind Navy, Army and ... Western Kentucky.
