WEST VALLEY CITY — Brandon Miller scored 23 points and upset 2nd ranked American Fork 59-53 in the 5A quarterfinals.
The hot shooting bengals trailed by just three at the end of the third quarter. They went on to outscore American Fork 17-8 in the final quarter and shot 53 percent in the 2nd half.
The Cavemen struggled offensively making just 39 percent of their shots. They were 3 of 12 from the 3-point line and only had 5 free throw attempts. Quincy Bair led the Cavemen with 16 points and 8 rebounds.
Brandon Miller went 3 of 5 from the 3-point line while teammate Chris Eixenberger chipped in with 14 points on 7 of 9 shooting.
Brighton will face another surprise team Riverton in Friday's semifinals.
