SALT LAKE CITY -- What do you get when you mix passion for Real Salt Lake with a punk rocker?
Yep, a pretty killer rally-crying anthem.
Branden Steineckert, drummer for punk band Rancid and Provo native, teamed with local videographer and all around good guy Isaac Halasima to come up with a pretty killer video for the start of the upcoming RSL season.
As Halasima noted, "Special thanks all the fans that answered our call and to RSL for not kicking us off their property."
Yeah, the video wouldn't have made as much sense if you were walking around LaVell Edwards Stadium.
Although, maybe Steineckert is also a BYU fan.
Linsanity goes mainstream
The New York Knicks' Jeremy Lin continues to make a name for himself on the biggest stage possible.
The humble, unassuming, yet talented point guard (he finally moved off his brother's couch and into his own place- in fact he's moved into Amare Stoudemire's old apartment in the Trump Tower- no, not the one in Manhattan, but in downtown White Plains) has yet to let his Knicks lose since taking over the starting role.
And last night he hit [the game-winning 3- point shot against Toronto](<The Trump Tower in downtown White Plains?rel=0>).
But what's even more impressive is he's got Stephen Colbert talking basketball... instead of politics.
That's going mainstream.
Extreme insanity
From Linsanity to pure insanity.
Extreme BMXer Daniel Sandoval did something at a FISE contest in Costa Rica no one has ever done before: A 720 double tailwhip.
What is that exactly?
Hard to explain, so watch the video.
But we imagine Sandoval's life flashed before his eyes right before the landing.
Nuts...
Impulsive guarantee
After the Utah Jazz's second straight loss, point guard Earl Watson issued a guarantee on Twitter that the Jazz will make the playoffs. Honestly, I wouldn't expect anything less from a professional athlete, they should expect to win, but others are taking him to the woodshed for a verbal beating.
To be fair, Earl also got plenty of support, but we'll see if the Bulldog's determination rubs off on his teammates.
