The Utah Valley University wrestling team had a rare opportunity on Saturday: the Wolverines had the privilege to not only face the defending national wrestling champions, but to host them at their home mat. The Pennsylvania State University wrestling team, former national champions and currently ranked No. 2 in the country, made their way to Orem to do battle against UVU.
This video highlights the match. Although it was clear that Penn State was dominant, the Wolverine wrestlers fought hard and showed resolve in defeat. The final match score was 39-3 in favor of Penn State. Despite the defeat, UVU will remember hosting a powerhouse wrestling program and will take the match as a stepping stone for the rest of the season.
