PROVO -- This video, created by BYUtv, looks back at BYU football's inaugural season as an independent program. Robbie Bullough narrates the journey of BYU's independence from announcement in 2010 to the Armed Forces Bowl late in 2011. The video follows the timeline of independence from scrambling to piece together a schedule to gaining huge exposure on ESPN.
It also follows the difficult 1-2 start for the Cougars and looks back at the benching of Jake Heaps in favor of Riley Nelson. It shows highlights of the Cougars' reinvigoration in the season by winning nine of their last 10 games. The voice of the Cougars, Greg Wrubell, delivers his exciting calls on some of the season's best plays, and the video wraps up by showing highlights of BYU's third straight bowl win in the Armed Forces Bowl in Dallas.
