JAKARTA, Apr 7, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- The launch Friday of a toned-down Playboy magazine in Indonesia is being met with religious condemnation and to disappointment because there's no nudity.
One Jakarta radio caller was disappointed to find the magazine didn't have any nude women and said he felt he had been deceived, the BBC said. Another called it sinful to read Playboy if there is no nudity.
The first edition of Playboy in Indonesia features pictures of women with exposed midriffs, thighs and cleavage.
Muslim leaders have labeled the publication "moral terrorism," that threatens to destroy the country's way of life.
One hard-line group, the Islamic Defenders Front, has vowed to remove issues of the magazine from newsstands by force and there were a number of street protests ahead of Friday's launch.
Some 30 policemen have been deployed to guard the Playboy offices in Jakarta.
In addition to Indonesia, Playboy has 17 international editions.
