CARSON, Calif. (AP) -- Ante Razov scored two goals and Juan Pablo Garcia added another as Chivas USA beat Real Salt Lake 3-0 Sunday in the season opener for both teams.

Razov, the fourth-leading scorer in MLS history, made an impact in his debut with his new team. Acquired from the MetroStars -- now the New York Red Bulls -- in January, Razov broke free from Real Salt Lake's defense and knocked in a shot from 15 yards out in the 21st minute.

Garcia scored his goal 4 minutes later, and Razov got his second on a low, hard shot from 25 yards out that beat Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Scott Garlick in the 66th minute.

The first win of the season for Chivas came a full month earlier than it did in 2005. Last year, the team started 0-4-1 and won just three home games all season.

Of the club's starting lineup from opening day a year ago, only Brad Guzan started on Sunday. Francisco Mendoza, who started at left midfield, was the only other player on Chivas' roster in last season's opener against D.C. United.

Razov, in his 11th season, has 86 goals with the Los Angeles Galaxy, Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew, MetroStars and Chivas. He had seven goals in 25 games last year with Columbus and the MetroStars.
