PROVO, Utah (AP) - Noah Hartsock scored 20 points and Brandon Davies had 14 points and 13 rebounds as BYU defeated Cal State San Marcos 79-51 Tuesday night.

Matt Carlino contributed 19 points for BYU (11- 3), which never trailed, and the final margin matched its largest lead of the game. The Cougars shot 50 percent from the field and the three top scorers made 21 of their 28 shot attempts.

Tim Steed led Cal State San Marcos (6-8) with 11 points and Daniel Ndiaye scored 10. San Marcos is a member of the NAIA.

BYU opens its first West Coast Conference season Thursday night at Saint Mary's.
