Two interceptions lead Montana State to 21-5 win over Weber State

OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Chase Gazzerro and Michael Beach each returned interceptions for touchdowns as Montana State beat Weber State 21-5 on Saturday.

Senior quarterback Jack Rolovich completed 16-of-33 for 141 yards for the Bobcats (2-1, 1-0 Big Sky), including a 29-yard touchdown to Jamelle Banks in the second quarter, while Demetrius Crawford racked up 95 yards on the ground off 13 carries.

Montana State led 14-0 until Mike Snoy kicked a 20-yard field goal for the Wildcats (0-3, 0-1) with 50 seconds remaining in the first half.

WSUs Derek Johnson blocked a MSU field-goal attempt and forced a safety when Rolovich was flagged for intentional grounding in his own end zone in the fourth quarter.

The Wildcats used three different quarterbacks with Brendon Doyle finishing 7-of-21 for 93 yards during the final 16 minutes. He also had an interception to Jonathan Carroway in the final minute.

WSU starter Jimmy Barnes finished 1-of-5 for three yards while Cameron Higgins was 9-of-17 for 113 yards. Barnes was benched twice, following his interceptions to Gazzerro and Beach in the first and third quarters, respectively.

Trevyn Smith led WSU with 78 yards of 17 carries.
