Sky Grant gets it. He understands how to work hard and smart. In high school he was an All State Baseball Player, following in the footsteps of his father, D. Grant, who was also an athlete.
His dad taught him to outwork, out hustle and out think the next guy, and he would do well. D Grant Ltd., which has been in business since 1975, is an example of doing just that. Sky is the second generation taking over the business of a fine men's clothing store located at 1354 Foothill Blvd. The second location opened at the Gateway 10 years ago, offering some of the finest Italian and European clothing lines for men. . . designers like Canali (can-know-lee), Zanella and Eton of Sweden. This is another example of Downtown Rising and the economic impact it's having on our city.
This wonderful male boutique has withstood the test of time. When I talked to Sky about the impact of the last few years, it's clear his business is one of the few to survive. He learned to understand everything about the uniqueness of the family business, and he's a better business owner because of it. One best business practice D taught him is to pay your bills on time.
Sky and his father have a real passion for wonderful men's clothing and have personally met some of the top designers in the world. The clientele of D. Grant Ltd. loves this store.
I had a chance to visit the Foothill location and met both D and his son. They pointed out the difference in the lines the carry. I now understand it's not only how the clothing is made but also the material designers use. You won't find anything uncomfortable or scratchy here.
D and Sky love the clients who have been a part of D Grant Ltd for decades. Their referral business is critical for the continued success of this iconic fine men's clothing store, and the other critical factor is these guys support the Utes and Cougars!
