Twitter wrap-up: BYU at Oregon State

CORVALLIS - BYU won the turnover battle and the game this week as they went up against the Oregon State Beavers.

Here is a recap of what was taking place on Twitter during the game:

The first score took place after an 82-yard drive BYU drive, Ailisa had a 10- yard carry that put the cougars up 7-0

Andrew Adams (@AndrewAdamsKSL) tweeted, "Michael Alisa is a future star. I've been talking him up since fall camp. Nice TD run. #BYU 7, Oregon State 0 1st Q."

Moments later BYU's Kyle Van Noy came up with a big interception.

Guy Dean Crandall (@YsGuy) tweeted, "#KyleVanNoy for #BYU picks off his 3rd interception of the season! Shuts down a good #OregonState drive. Go Cougs!"

The Van Noy interception led to a touchdown. Hoffman had a great catch then JJ Di Luigi ran it in on an option play for a touchdown.

Clark Amundson (@sundevilclark) Tweeted "#BYU's Hoffman makes a studly catch and Di Luigi punches it in Cougars up 14-0."

Oregon State answered back with a touchdown run by Sean Mannion. Then the Beavers' Trevor Romaine intercepted a Riley Nelson pass that and returned it for a touchdown that tied the game at 14-14.

John Richards (@j_rich) tweeted about the interception, "Bad decision to throw by Nelson, but Apo just stood there watching and then trotted after DB."

At the half it was all tied up at 14-14.

Graydon Johns of KSL (@gjohns) tweeted, "1st H (half) for #BYU like M Night Shyamalan movie. Started well, had potential 2 b great, then fell flat on its face. Horrible ending. 2nd half?"

The Cougars came out ready to play at the beginning of the second half. Nelson connected with Hoffman for a touchdown on the opening drive.

Rachel K (@hobocita) tweeted, "Touchdown Cody Hoffman! Beautifully executed pass..."

Later in the game Hoffman came down with another incredible pass that was tipped while he was in coverage.

Josh (@ScoresbyJr) tweeted, "Cody Hoffman's catch from #byu that he just had vs #oregonstate has gotta be on @SportsCenter tonight #SCtop10."

BYU missed was then given several opportunities to score off of Oregon State turnovers. BYU attempted a field goal after being pushed back due to a holding call, but the kick was no good. BYU then forced another turnover, but this time capitalized on it with a successful field goal attempt that put the Cougars up 24-14.

David James tweeted (@DavidDJJames) tweeted, "Cougars retake the lead in the turnover battle 3-2. Beavers first fumble to go with 2 picks. #BYU up 21-14. BYU 3-11 at Pac-12 since 1984."

Oregon State answered back with a Brandin Cooks 59-yard touchdown catch.

Sang Kim (@5lbtrout) tweeted, "Uale totally got faked out in that play. As a safety, you've got to stay home. #BYU."

BYU then put together a 65-yard drive for a touchdown, ending with a Nelson pass to J.D. Falslev.

Jason Shepherd (@espn700shep) tweeted, BYU has broken the 30 point mark. Nelson to Falslev for the 2 yd TD. 31-21 #BYU."

BYU maintained a ten point lead from that point on, winning 38-28.

Andrew Adams (@AndrewAdamsKSL) tweeted, "Solid win on the road in the Pac-12. A few missed opportunities or not, #BYU fans should feel very good about this win."
