SALT LAKE CITY -- The University of Utah women's basketball team knew it was in the NCAA Tournament after winning the Mountain West Conference Tournament title Saturday. Monday, the Utes found out their first-round destination and opponent - Tucson, Ariz. and Middle Tennessee State University.

Utah comes into the tournament as the No. 5 seed in the Albuquerque, N.M. Region. Middle Tennessee State is the No. 12 seed. The Utes and Blue Raiders will square off at 11 a.m. Saturday at the McKale Center on the campus of the University of Arizona.

This is Utah's 14th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and their eighth in the last 12 years. The Utes will enter the NCAA Tournament with a 24-6 overall record and as winners of nine of their last 10. Utah is coming off an 84-60 victory over BYU in the championship game of the MWC Tournament Saturday in Denver.

Middle Tennessee State gained entry in the NCAA Tournament by virtue of winning the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. The Blue Raiders are 20-10 overall and took an 84-73 win over Western Kentucky in the Sun Belt finals all the way back on Tuesday (March 7) in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
