The Cougars moved to the Indoor Practice Facility for this afternoon's practice--hoping to avoid the stormy weather that was swirling around Utah County.

The practice featured a field-goal kicking simulation that had the players pretty pumped up. Mitch Payne made a succession of field goals, culminating in a mini-celebration.

For those concerned about BYU's kicking mishaps this past Saturday, consider that the last underclassman placekicker to kick in an opener was Matt Payne in 2002. He missed 2 of 3 field goal attempts and 3 of 6 PAT attempts in a win over Syracuse. He was near-perfect the rest of the season.

Punter C.J. Santiago actually had a better 5 punt average vs. the Wildcats (38.6) than senior punter Derek McLaughlin had with his 5 punts in last year's season opener with Arizona (37.2).
