The Utah Grizzlies cruised to their 31st victory of the season as they defeated the Long Beach Ice Dogs 3-0, Friday night at the Long Beach Arena.
After a defensive struggle in the first period, Brad Herauf found D.J. Jelitto who skated through the low-slot and put the puck past the pipes for his seventh goal on the season, at the 3:37 mark of the second period. At 18:45 in the second period, Trevor Baker doubled the Grizzlies lead after taking helpers from Garett Cameron and Ryan Kinasewich.
The Grizzlies, playing short-handed, extended their lead to three when Garret Cameron took a Ryan Kinasewich pass and lit the lamp for the 20th time this year at the 1:06 mark of the third period. Utah netminder, Alfie Michaud, recorded his third shutout on the season as the Grizzlies picked up the 3-0 victory against the Ice Dogs.
Garret Cameron extended his team season-high scoring streak to twelve games (9 goals, 8 assists), picking up 1 goal and 1 assist.
The Grizzlies are continue their road trip tomorrow, February 25, when they take on the San Diego Gulls. The puck drops at 8:00 p.m.
