LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) -- Keena Young scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds Saturday afternoon to lead BYU to a 74-68 victory over Wyoming.
Jimmy Balderson scored six of his 11 points during an 11-4 run that gave BYU (16-7, 8-4 Mountain West) a 65-62 lead with 5:36 remaining.
The Cougars made five of their final six free throw attempts, while Wyoming (12-14, 5-8) was just 2-of-8.
Jackson Emery added 13 points for BYU, followed by Trent Plaisted with 12.
Brandon Ewing led Wyoming with 25 points and Brad Jones scored 11. Justin Williams had eight points, 13 rebounds, and a career-high 11 blocked shots, tying the school's single-game record.
Emery hit back-to-back 3-pointers during an 8-0 BYU run that gave the Cougars their biggest lead of the game at 53-43. But Wyoming countered with a 15-1 run that gave the Cowboys a 58-54 lead midway through the second half.
BYU closed the first half with an 8-3 run to take a 43-35 lead.
