MEXCIO CITY, Mexico, Feb 7, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Gunmen attacked the offices of a Mexican newspaper, seriously injuring one journalist, El Universal reported Tuesday.
The masked men entered the offices of El Manana in the border town of Nuevo Laredo and shot reporter Jaime Orozco Tey.
No one else was seriously hurt in the attack.
Nuevo Laredo has been the scene of numerous drug-related crimes over the years, as rival gangs fight for territory. Reporters covering the drug trade are often targeted or threatened.
